Summary

One Last Stop to seksowna, zachwycająca opowieść o prawdziwym uczuciu, które potrafi pokonać granice czasu。

Despite reading the synopsis of this book, I still ended up surprised and confused at the extremely bizarre tale on NYC public transit。 A quick read but I just didn’t like it as much as Red, White & Royal Blue。

It was a good story。 I thought it would be more like Red, White and Royal Blue。 I finished it just to finish it。

Yes! Absolutely loved this time-loop romance。 So fresh, heartwarming, and hilarious。 I loved all of super well-developed characters。

I kept reading this non-stop。 Staying up late, on lunch break, whenever I could。 It was cute, light and had a great will-they-won’t-they build up。 Gay as hell and I am here for it。 I would rate it higher if it was a bit more mature/less YA cute-sy but it was a fun read。

And fuck if this book wasn't everything I wanted。 Everything I needed it to be。 It was friendship and romance and queerness rolled up into a package with psychics and drag queens and pancakes。 This book was incredible, and messy, and I loved every minute of it。 And fuck if this book wasn't everything I wanted。 Everything I needed it to be。 It was friendship and romance and queerness rolled up into a package with psychics and drag queens and pancakes。 This book was incredible, and messy, and I loved every minute of it。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I am uncontrollably swooning。 This is a perfect example of me looking at the four star rating and SWEATING。 Goodreads, start doing half stars, August and Jane are looking naked without that half star。 Four just isn’t enough okay! There is just something about Casey McQuiston’s writing that I click with。 I devour her stories and feel so empty, yet so full at the end, and August and Jane did not disappoint。 The story of fresh to Manhattan August, who finds a group of gays to room with, and who rom I am uncontrollably swooning。 This is a perfect example of me looking at the four star rating and SWEATING。 Goodreads, start doing half stars, August and Jane are looking naked without that half star。 Four just isn’t enough okay! There is just something about Casey McQuiston’s writing that I click with。 I devour her stories and feel so empty, yet so full at the end, and August and Jane did not disappoint。 The story of fresh to Manhattan August, who finds a group of gays to room with, and who romanizes her life just enough that she falls head over heels for the hot butch on her morning commute。 It takes a couple of train rides for them to actually meet, but Jane Su is everything August Landry is looking for。 The only roadblock, lol, is that Jane, literally lol, can’t leave the train。 She’s stuck in a time loop, and she has no idea why。 With the help of gay roommates - Myla, Niko, Wes and next door neighbor Isaiah - we figure it all out。 She’s from the 1970s, she’s originally from San Francisco, has actually been to New Orleans where August is from, and made friends with August’s long lost uncle。 Shit was wild。 Getting Jane’s heart rate going caused memories to come back to her so there was lots of make out seshes, and some sneaky fingers in sneaky places while they were on PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION。 Jane started remembering herself, her past, and how to potentially fix it。 They go through this whole scheme with a party and electrical stuff to shock the train and get Jane out of this time loop。 This is the kind of book that I GENUINELY thought was going to have a sad ending, but Casey McQuiston said, no sad gay endings here!! Cause it really looked like Jane went back to the 1970’s, or she died or something happened because months had passed and she was still not here。 Until she was!!! And then there was more making out and inappropriate touching on a taxi, a less public version of public transit, but is still PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION。 They got that happy ending and just like the last book, it was such a soft ending for the two of them, it’s what they so deserved。 I feel like RW&RB was one of those novels that has a free flowing plot where things happen as things come, but has no endpoint in sight, whereas OLS, had two plots running through it and you knew there would be a conclusion to both - saving Jane before the Q shuts down for months, and also saving Billy’s Pancake House。 I feel like I liked OLS more in that regard。 Also Alex and Henry are fucking iconic, but there’s just something about August and Jane that feels Even More of a stand out。 I believed both their love stories, the characters were again so rich。 I’m not gonna pit my two beloveds against each other, but,,,, you know RW&RB is still the winner right? Like, nothing is gonna take the cake like that one did。 However, the lasting effect of One Last Stop is that every time I’m in NYC now, I longingly look at the Q like - I could get on it, just to feel something。 And does RW&RB have that? Nope。 But it does still have that turkey scene。 Also One Last Stop has August Landry, and that one is a keeper。 I love her to bits。 。。。more

absolutely loved this book。 starting to think found family is my favourite trope- was never bored or wanted to put it down。 kind of wanted to read it slow to savour it but that didn’t happen haha。 reminds me of house in the cerulean sea- like a book is giving you a big hug, loved it!

Too much harlequin romance novel content for my taste (more solving time travel mystery and less making out in subway cars, please!), but at least it was well written romance? If you were hoping for sci-fi like me, you can probably skip this one, but i can see why it’s popular。

This is one of the best books I have read recently。 It's a rom-com book and it has some of the rom-com tropes, but the way those tropes manifest is unique ((view spoiler)[ for example, the big "break-up" before reconciling moment is caused not by miscommunication but because they actually do manage to yank Jane out of the time bubble she is stuck in (hide spoiler)])。 Also, while there is of course miscommunication and mixed signals at times, what I love is that OUR LOVE INTERESTS ACTUALLY COMMU This is one of the best books I have read recently。 It's a rom-com book and it has some of the rom-com tropes, but the way those tropes manifest is unique ((view spoiler)[ for example, the big "break-up" before reconciling moment is caused not by miscommunication but because they actually do manage to yank Jane out of the time bubble she is stuck in (hide spoiler)])。 Also, while there is of course miscommunication and mixed signals at times, what I love is that OUR LOVE INTERESTS ACTUALLY COMMUNICATE IN A REASONABLE AND REALISTIC WAY。 This book also destroyed me at times - I was bawling at certain points of the end (view spoiler)[ those three months (for August) where she thinks they sent Jane back to 1977 had me in the depths of despair。 Just tears and sadness central! But then it was good! And I don't think it's cheap, I think the feelings McQuiston evokes in that between chapter make the eventual happiness worth it, a genuine payoff。 We really appreciate what Jane means for August (hide spoiler)]。 It is really emotional and heartfelt。 But also, also, I am so so happy that (view spoiler)[ we get that last chapter, where Jane starts to fit into August's life。 I feel like other books with other authors would have been tempted to end with Jane coming into Billy's。 But no, McQuiston spoils us, and I love it so, so much。 I feel like a lot of romance books with some major conflict end way too soon after the conflict is resolved。 Let us bask in the resolution, dear authors!!!! (hide spoiler)]I also love how unapologetically queer this book is。 Pretty much all of the characters are queer in some way (literally all, except for maybe Billy, Jerry, and Gabe?? but they're are really, really side characters anyways), and this book revolves around, builds on, and works off of queer culture (particularly in New York)。 There is bi-rep, trans-rep, lesbian rep, gay rep, drag queen rep, vogue culture rep。 All the rep。 And it feels good。 It feels good to read about these people having problems and not being perfect, but also, for the most part, being happy。 And helping others find happiness ((view spoiler)[ I feel like a core part of August's journey is finding happiness in herself and who she is, and Jane, Myla, Wes, Niko, Annie/Isaiah, Lucie, Winston, and co are all essential to that journey (hide spoiler)])。 I love all of the characters。 I love Jane and August the most of course, but everyone gets a chance to shine (especially the inhabitants of 6F)。 I love how supportive they all are。 I want that for everyone in the world。Ok, so now let's get to the writing。 The writing is gorgeous。 To drown in sometimes, to let gloss over you, to just inhale wholesale。 She gets the anxiety of August's existence right (although the book is in third person)。 Also really funny at times。 The scene where Myla is trying to get the key card from Gabe is comedic gold (especially the other's running commentary)。 Also woof can McQuiston write sex scenes。 Not really raunchy but extremely sensual。 Just an FYI for those curious。 。。。more

Not typically a fan of romance but I’ve been trying to branch out lately。 Read this on a recommendation from a friend and was impressed! I came in knowing nothing-not even reading the back of the book-and was so shocked about all the time stuff! I would recommend this to others。

This would probably be 3。5 ⭐ - I absolutely loved the character of Jane! She is such a badass and I wish I could meet her in real life。 Honestly, all of August's friends are amazing and I want to be in her friend group。 The time travel aspect was hard for me to connect with, and there were definitely a few moments I rolled my eyes at。 I enjoyed the read, but it wasn't one of my favorites。 This would probably be 3。5 ⭐ - I absolutely loved the character of Jane!
